October Happenings

October was a busy month filled with leaves and pumpkins! We were able to visit a pumpkin patch in La Grande and spent many afternoons raking (and jumping) in the leaves! of course this poses a great photo op, so I took advantage and took photos of the kids in the leaves!

I just love these photos!

When we got around to actually carving the pumpkins, the kids weren't too sure about touching the pumpkin "guts" but they eventually got into it! They were pretty bummed when the time came to toss them out! But it had to be done, they were getting pretty gross!

Check out my Slide Show!

Catching up on 2007

I thought I would post a little slide show to help me "catch" up for the past 6 months. Here's what we've been up to between June and September! Enjoy! (There will be more to come as I have a few minutes!) I figured since I announced in the Christmas Card that there is a blog, I better hurry and get it updated!!

Meeting new baby cousin - AMELIA!

We were suprised with a visit from Adam and Anne (Steven' brother and his wife) in the beginning of June. A death in her family brought them this way, and we were so excited to meet the newest cousin - Ameila! the boys just LOVED holding her - everyone wanted to hold her. She's such a sweet baby!

Mmmm.. chocolate donut!!

Brynley's first chocolate covered donut! I think she liked it!!! he he he

Trampoline Fun

It was really hot this day - so we decided to stick a sprinkler under the trampoline and let the kids have fun! They loved it! It was a great way to cool off! While Brynley's legs were exposed in her swim suit I just HAD To take a picture of her cute little chubby legs! I love that roll right behind her knee! She has definately made up for any weight she didn't gain or lost! I love baby chub!

Two Piggies!

i finally decided to try and get 2 piggies in Brynley's hair. So cute! Except she's at the really obnoxious stage where she's always pulling her "pretties" out of her hair! She knows exactly what she's doing too - because she watches me the entire time she pulls them out! She looks really silly with only one piggie and her hair going crazy out the other side! I've been having a lot of fun making little clippies for her hair. These ones were my favorite out of the little flowers. Can you believe how long her hair is getting - and so quickly too! She was getting pretty tired of me snapping photos though - here's one of her getting upset! WHAT A FACE!! (now if only I could edit out that runny nose! whoops!)

Gone Fishin'

Here's the boys memorial day weekend fishin at the cabin. They fish weren't really biting at this point though - but they did have fun! I wasn't really thinking about the camera too much.. but there's as couple others of them as well. brynley was always asleep when i finally thought to get out the camera! They really enjoyed letting off fireworks and making S'mores as well!

First run through the Sprinkler!

Here's a couple of pics of Brynley running through the Sprinkler - it was soo cute! The sprinkler was hitting the sidewalk in front of our house and she would just walk back and forth letting it hit her in the face and squealing with delight! Who would have known she's like that cold cold water! (it really wasn't a super warm day either!) She has really come out of her shell these past few months. Finally feeling better and getting into everything! She's getting quite the personality! may 26

Luke's Preschool Graduation - May 22

Luke's preschool (jumpin' jacks) threw a graduation party on May 22nd. The theme was candyland and they sang some cute songs and wore light blue tie-died shirts. They all looked SO little! For refreshments there was tons of sweets - candy, lollipop cake, bright colorful cupcakes.. it really did look like candyland! And the decorations were great too. Luke was so proud of himself. He talked all week about how he was going to get a "ploma" and then once he got it.. he folded and wrinkled it all up! ARGH! Oh well.. we just flattened it out and we'll always have that memory when we see that wrinkled "ploma" That is totally Luke! Silly Boy. Here's some cute pics of the event. (even one of him with his "honey" naomi.)

May Family Project - Build a Birdhouse

Wow - it's really been FOREVER since we posted last.. so here's bunch of new stuff! Here's some pics of the boys building a birdhouse with Papa. Michael's family project for May was to build a birdhouse so we decided to get Grandpa in on the project. Michael wanted to build a huge 3 room sparrow birdhouse - which we ended up painting green. We've really had a lot of fun with the Kindergarten family projects. A great way to involve the whole family in school!

Brynley's Curled Hair!

Brynley's hair is getting so long! A couple days ago I got the bright idea to try and curl brynley's hair. She actually sat long enough and still enough for me to do it! It made her look even more grown up! She has turned into quite the little fireball! She's still quite a mama's girl, but she has gained a lot more confidence and is walking all over the place and getting into everything! It is such a nice change to see her feeling well, but also crazy to keep up with her!

Mother's Day Social

Luke's Preschool has a "mother's day social" last Thursday, May 10th, to honor all the mom's and thank them. It was so cute! The "social" was held at one of the other mom's home, and when I arrived, Luke took me by the hand and led me to my seat. There waiting for me was a little decorated hat for the placecard, a cake (made by Luke) and a gift - his handprint with a little note signed by luke. It was a lot of fun, and Luke loved having his mom at school with him!

More T-ball

Here's some more pics from T-ball on saturday and monday. The coaches even let Luke bat! He was SO excited! Michael asked that they pitch to him rather than use the tee, and he was actually able to hit the ball a couple of times! He's pretty excited. But.. now they've opened a can of worms because all the kids would rather try batting with the pitcher instead of the tee! Games tend to last a lot longer when each kid gets 3-4 tries before they pull out the tee!

"Cavities in my teeth"

Luke came home from Preschool last week with these goofy candy teeth that he said had "cavities" in them. He wanted me to post his picture - so here he is! They learned about cavities last month when the Baker Dental group visited and talked about Dental Hygiene.

School Program

Michael had his first Kindergarten program on April 26th. They sang a few songs and did a little skit. (Too mcuh noise) He even had to memorize a few lines. Here he is singing in the program next to his 2 best buddies, Dylan (far left) and Jake (right next to michael). And yes - I think that Michael is the shortest in his class! :o) Poor Kid!!

T-Ball Season is officially here!

Michael started his first t-ball season yesterday. It started off with a parade at 8am that went all the way from Geiser Pollman park clear to Wade Williams field! I can't believe those little guys walked that far! They had them circle the Baseball field as their team was announced then the national anthem was sung, and it was time to "PLAY BALL!" Luckily it didn't rain on Michael's game, but the rest of the teams weren't so lucky. It rained all afternoon, starting with the last 5 minutes of Michael's game. Michael did pretty good! All the kids at this age still think that they ALL have to fight for the ball once its hit. There is no concept of "STAY at your base!" There are so many t-ball teams this year that he didn't end up on one with any of his friends, but he is making lots of new friends! Here's a few pictures from the day. There will be many more as the season goes on i'm sure! (Oh - and the coach gave Luke his own hat and shirt as well! He is SO proud, but bummed that he doesn't get to play with the team. They do let him practice though and they let him walk in the parade).

Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter! Today we went to church in our ward in Baker, then the "easter bunny" visited while we were at church, so the kids walked in the door to see their easter baskets by the fireplace. Then we went over to La Grande to go to sacrament in third ward, dinner and an egg hunt at "papa & grandma pam's" I tried to get a decent picture of the kids all dressed up, but I forgot that Brynley hates the feel of grass and when I went to sit her down on the grass in front of her brothers she screamed and well, it was all over. I couldn't even sit her on a blanket after that!! As you can see from the picture - she is VERY upset! Plus it was very bright and just a bad time of day and spot for a good picture. There are also a few photos here from the egg hunt in the backyard, and a really cute picture of brynley discovering some flowers on the back porch!
